Gata is a traditional Armenian pastry with choriz (a mixture of flour, sugar and butter) inside. This is one of the most famous dishes of national cuisine, which every tourist should definitely try. During the festival the guests can try different alternatives of gata that will certainly attract with their wonderful taste.
The entertainment program includes national songs and dances, horseback riding, various contests and participation in the tasting of the largest gata, which is baked every year specially for this day.
Near the site of the festival is the house-museum of the poet Paruyr Sevak and the ancient church Harkop. The guests can visit these places in their free time.
