BEAUTIFUL BUT RARELY VISITED SIGHTSEEINGS OF ARMENIAN AND NAGORNO-KARABAKH

Armenia is a country with an ancient history. Sightseeings in Armenian are many in number, anyhow, there are places that do not appear to be very popular among tourist destinations, but, meanwhile, are of great interest. Nagorno- Karabakh is located in the Eastern part of Armenia. Many travelers from all over the world come here simply to enjoy the natural scenery and architectural sights of Artsakh.

INTERESTING AND UNIQUE PLACES IN ARMENIA UNKNOWN TO MANY YET WORTH VISITING 

Kakavaberd Castle and fortress dating back to the 9th-10th centuries. It is located on the top of a mountain from where opens a beautiful view of the picturesque gorge of the River Azat.
Ughtasar Petroglyphs are located in the Syunik region, in the south of Armenia. The petroglyphs are 4-7 thousand years old and are unique examples of ancient cave paintings. A visit to this place will be especially impressive for history lovers.
Trchkan waterfall is a wonderful natural monument located in the borders of the Shirak and Lori regions. The waterfall is included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage. Trckan is the highest and a full-flowing waterfall located on the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Shaki waterfall is located in the northwest of the city Sisian. The height of the waterfall is 18 meters. The waterfall is wonderful in any season and always attracts the lovers of the nature. The territory around Shaki waterfall is a unique architectural treasury. 

Scientists joke that this is exactly the place where the development of a humankind took place with incredibly quick steps.
Bjni fortress - Х-XII centuries.  Here is the only preserved underground tunnel to the river in Armenia.
Kirants monestry is a church located in the Tavush region. This is a vivid example of the Armenian medieval architecture. 
Kobayr is a medieval monastery of Armenia. Translated it means cave. Here are located a great number of caves.   
Hakhpat, Akhtala, Sanahin are located in the Lori region. All three are unique architectural monuments of the medieval Armenia.

Beautiful places of Nagorno-Karabakh that are worth discovering 

Thanks to the fabulous nature and centuries-old culture, the land of Nagorno-Karabakh has become the queen of the Caucasus, the heart of the Armenian highlands. Artsakh is a harmony created by the joint work of the nature and man - the most beautiful region of Armenia.
Everyone who once visited this amazing place is probably familiar with the monasteries of Gandzasar and Dadivank, the ancient city of Tigranakert, the cathedral of Gazanchetsots, etc. But there are those that are not very popular as part of tourist destinations, though are not less unique than the attractions mentioned above.
Jermajur is a hot spring located in the mountains at an altitude of 2200-2400 meters. The temperature of the water in spring sometimes reaches 700 degree. This spring is considered curative: people travel thousands of kilometers to come here to indulge themselves in the hot spring, which rises from the bowels of the earth.
Amaras is the oldest center of writing and literature. Here, in the V century, the creator of the Armenian alphabet Mesrop Mashtots founded the first school. Invaders repeatedly attacked Amaras, but even in the most difficult times, the monastery continued to be a school of writing.
The Azokh cave is the oldest settlement in the Caucasus dating back to the Stone Age. The cave covers an area of 2000 square meters. Here archeologists from all over the world carry out various researches. Fragments of the jawbone of Pre-Neanderthal man were found here.  
Tnjri is a century old tree. In the years of the Soviet rule, it was granted a passport of the tallest and oldest tree. The height of this giant is more than 54 meters. 
Hunot gorge. The reservoir is especially attractive for the lovers of wild tourism. Right here is situated the waterfall known among people as “Umbrellas” – a symphony that created the nature itself.
Tashu-Shen. Here is the sanctuary to St. Saribek. People make pilgrimages here even from the most remote places, believing in the power of this wonderful place.
The mount Mets Kirs is situated 2725 meters above sea level. From the top of the mountain opens a wonderful sight to the city Shushi and Stepanakert.
